The CTR Genesis Airdrop Opens for Registration

Today, we announce the CTR airdrop registration designed to make early adopters part of the Bitcoin economy and the Citrea Network.

The snapshot for the CTR genesis airdrop was taken on May 5, 2026 at 00:00 UTC, midnight (the block 6919313). With the help of Human Tech and ZeruAI, anti-sybil efforts have been applied to eliminate bots, clearly farming behavior, and addresses failing to pass various compliance checks.

The CTR genesis airdrop has been allocated to five different categories:

1. The mainnet campaign users with additional token allocation boost for Testnet Campaign ₿apper NFT Holders (20%), Devnet Expert NFT Holders (10%) and key discord roles (10%)
2. Citrea supporters on X
3. Bitcoin and crypto community on X
4. Developers and researchers on Github
5. Local communities

Together with the initial claims going live, CTR staking for xCTR will be available. Between the initial claims and the activation of the proposed gauge system, there may be more airdrops to increase xCTR distribution across active mainnet users and enable them to become part of the Bitcoin economy.

Genesis Airdrop Eligibility Criteria

The CTR genesis airdrop was designed to put active and real users of the network at the center of the distribution which is in line with CTR’s design. It ultimately prioritizes depth of engagement over fleeting activity, ensuring that the influence of our most dedicated users is preserved and reflected in their final allocation. This airdrop is for maximum alignment.

1. Citrea Mainnet Campaign

The mainnet campaign users with the score over 920 will be eligible for the Citrea genesis airdrop. Scores over 920 were divided into tiers to distribute tokens in proportion to their mainnet activities. As part of recognizing the Testnet and Devnet Campaign users as well as key Discord role holders, a token allocation boost was given to eligible mainnet campaign users.

• Mainnet campaign users with the score over 920 are eligible.
• Testnet Campaign ₿apper NFT Holders received 20% token allocation boost to their mainnet campaign token allocation.
• Devnet Expert NFT Holders received 10% token allocation boost to their mainnet campaign token allocation.
• OG and Citrus Champion Discord Role Holders received 10% token allocation boost to their mainnet campaign token allocation.

This was an intentional design to give the maximum allocation to those who participated every step of the Citrea’s journey: devnet, testnet and mainnet.

2. Citrea Supporters on X

We deeply appreciate those who supported us on X and spread our story. To create a long-term alignment with those who have been vocal on X, a portion of the airdrop is allocated for them.

These accounts were chosen based on their genuine and long-lasting support and alignment.

3. Bitcoin and Crypto Community on X

We value the Bitcoin community who continuously educates users and contributes to Bitcoin’s story and scalability. Therefore, a portion of the airdrop is allocated for them.

4. Developers and Researchers

Citrea delivered the first ZK rollup for Bitcoin. Citrea’s technology built upon important advancements made possible by key developers and researchers. To appreciate these contributors, a portion of the airdrop is allocated for them.

• Contributors to key projects in the ZK, Bitcoin, and stablecoin ecosystems, such as BitVM, Sovereign SDK, RISC Zero, Boundless, Reth/Revm, BitcoinLayers, Bitcoin Core, and M0.
• Participants in the Citrea-Risc0-to-BitVM Trusted Setup Ceremony.

5. Local Communities

Citrea established strong local communities in key regions such as Korea, Brazil, India, Nigeria, and others. To appreciate community members who helped Citrea grow in their regions, a portion of the airdrop is allocated for them.
