Concluding Early Staker Program

Concluding Early Staker Program

Three months ago, CTR launched to bring a coordination asset model to the Bitcoin ecosystem, catalyzing capital efficiency, driving protocol governance, and activating institutional-grade Bitcoin capital markets at scale.

To establish a highly committed foundation of early network governors, 10 million CTR was allocated to participants staking during this initial phase. With the final distribution on August 26, all 10 million CTR has now been distributed, marking the official conclusion of the Early Staker Program.

Reflecting on the Early Staker Program

The Early Staker Program succeeded in establishing an initial base of network governors and driving growth in early staking positions. This initial cohort helped lay the groundwork for a broader, community-led governance structure.

However, the past three months revealed a key insight: passive staking emissions alone do not fully achieve maximum ecosystem alignment. Sustainable protocol growth requires incentives that put the active participants of the network at the absolute center, and fuel deeper engagement across ecosystem applications.

To ensure CTR distribution aligns with active network contributors, the baseline staking emissions model has concluded at this milestone, transitioning toward new incentive mechanisms currently in preparation.

What’s Next: Rewarding Active Ecosystem Participation

As the ecosystem expands, token distribution models must evolve alongside it. While the gauge system remains a potential feature for governance to consider, new reward mechanisms are actively being designed to address Citrea’s growing ecosystem.

Future incentive frameworks will aim to prioritize active capital efficiency and deeper ecosystem engagement, ensuring that participants who contribute directly to network growth are at the center.

Further updates for future incentive frameworks will be released as these mechanisms are finalized.
